I
have written about my fellow blogger, Coley's, website before. But that was several months ago and I think it's worth another mention. I don't know that many prospective adoptive parents (PAPs)would go to a site called "BirthMom Buds" for information, but it is a great place to understand the first mother perspective, and the founders (Coley and Lani) offer advice to people who want to adopt as well in the "
Adoptive Mothers" section.
Here's why they say they include this section:
A Note from the founders: We decided to do this page for adoptive mothers because we believe that open relationships between the adoptive mother and the birth mother are best for the child. We hope, that through our site and this page, adoptive mothers have the chance to see insight into a birthmother's heart. We are all in this for the same reason - the love of our child. Please respect that the main purpose of BirthMom Buds is to support birth moms and women who are pregnant and considering adoption.
Even if you are adopting internationally or you know you will be in a closed situation I think it's worth looking at this site. It gives a very valuable perspective.
